Paillard Bolex Vintage Precision Tripod – First Model 1953

£375.00

Paillard Bolex Vintage Precision Tripod – First Model 1953

This first model of tripod available from Paillard Bolex (1953) is made from aluminum with wooden legs.

The pan head contains a built-in spirit level with a detachable camera base. The Pan and tilt is adjusted with a handle, while separate knobs allowed movement of each to be locked. The handle can accommodate a cable release in a hole through its centre.

The wooden tripod legs are kept stationary by a support chain and can be adjusted individually.

Fully extended, the height is approximately 57″.

A circular Paillard Bolex logo is embossed on the top of the camera base and the screw can be flipped from 1/4″ to 3/8″.

This is in very good condition having been well looked after. A sympathetic refurbishment has taken place, re-waxing of the wood, with some small items replaced like rubber for foot and screws where necessary.

All controls are working. The legs extend fully, all locking knobs and handles work. The horizontal panning is quite stiff but all other controls are easier.

A superb example of this iconic tripod ideal for a collector and still usable.

Camera in the pictures is not included.

Delivery is by fully insured carrier.
