Paillard Bolex Right-Angle Trifocal Viewer Attachment 1949 For 8mm & 16mm Camera
This device used a spring-indented collar to fit over the Trifocal finder. It deflected the angle of view sideways at a 90 degree angle to the camera axis.
The purpose was to allow the movie-maker to be less conspicuous.
Also fits all Octameters and eyelevel viewfinders.
The last two pictures show it attached to viewfinders.
